My son has had thrush for almost a month and the doctor keeps giving us refills of nystatin...like it doesn’t work obviously do something else!! 🤦🏼♀️ anyone have any tips or tricks for thrush?! My son is about to be two months old, I had the same issue with my other son but once I went to bottle feeding it cleared right up and I’ve been bottle feeding only for almost two weeks and nothing...it’s killing me to keep giving him this medicine that doesn’t work and makes him spit up half his food every time!
Painful for me cus I was breastfeeding and I got it from him!
So sorry to hear that! My son had thrush and it was very painful nystatin didn’t do anything for him either so they prescribed Fluconazole and it helped. Talk to your Dr about it and see. Hope he gets better soon.
Dang. Sorry to hear that. Poor guy. I'm sorry I don't have anymore suggestions
Hopefully they can find a more effective remedy.
Just dealt with this. Are you also disinfecting the nipples, toys anything he puts in his mouth.Do you just use the syringe? We found q tips or a finger was more affective. I continued to nurse and treated us both and it was gone in a week or so. Have you asked about a stronger medication ?
Yes, I boil the nipples and pacifiers every day and I’ve been using a q tip to apply the medicine for the last two- two and a half weeks and it hasn’t changed anything 😞 I have my giant bottle that I use for myself and I haven’t had any symptoms in a while it’s just his younger will not clear up! Yeah I asked what else they could do but they keep telling me to just keep treating him with what I have. He goes for his two month check up next week I’m hoping they’ll give him that violet stuff and it’ll clear up quickly!
Yeah I nurse at night and randomly have days where I’m sore but it’s mainly just him I’m worried about, he has days where you can tell it bothers him to nurse or drink and it sucks! I’ll have to call and ask about that, thank you!
