You can color it but get it done professionally because of the hormones you can severely damage your hair.

I dye my hair on my own and never had a problem.

It can really depend. Certain colours stick to my hair just fine and others not so much. Usually reds have worked in mine, but this time they don't stick at all.

yeah you really don't want to bleach that yourself. You'll fry it off. I don't even know how light a salon could get it. What's the end goal?
