I work part time. You figure out short cuts, like meal prep. It’s hard in the beginning but you’ll get it figured out.

I work in an office but before this a daycare and it was really hard to balance work and kids. You just have to find a balance that works for you.

I use to work 10 hours out of the house when I had just my son. Once my son started school I realized I had to do something that would allow me to work around his schedule. I started to drive for lyft at nights and on weekends. I networked and ended up having my own clients instead of driving for lyft. I was becoming so busy with clients I had to get another driver under me and I ended up with a small transportation business. When I first started it was a lot of work. My daughter was one week old when I started and I was on the road a lot. With her in the back. My son would also come with when he wasn’t in school. But it paid off because now I can sit at home and still make money. I pick when I want to drive. I work around my kids. I do what I need to to make sure my kids are provided for and I’m with them. I would love to work in a different field of course but this works for us. I’m a single mom to my 2 and will soon be 3. I don’t know if I equally balance everything and I’m sure I fall short but my kids have love, their needs and wants met and they have time with me. You find a routine and schedule that works for you. Sometimes I pick sleep over cleaning, sometimes I pick staying up after the kids fall asleep to catch up on a show or to just have silence and peace. Sometimes I sleep when baby naps to catch up on some rest. Some days are hectic, some days I ask myself how the fuck I do what I do but I do it for them. You’ll find what your balance is for you and it will all work out.

😍😍 Thank You. I’m a first time mom and my career requires a lot of traveling so I might have to find a new job.

@sweetladykii, yw. I’m definitely doing something my degree isn’t in but hey, sometimes you just gotta roll with it. Is there other company’s you can work for that won’t require you to travel or not as much? If you have family support that is willing to help that’s always a plus. Unfortunately for me I don’t really have anyone where I’m at so I had to figure out ways to depend solely on me. My schedule these days are far less hectic than before.

I wake up around 6am, wake my son up and get him ready for school. I also get myself together and my baby. I drop him off at school and I head to pick up my rider. I take her 30 mins away to work and I come home. I try to do things like clean, grocery shop, shower, drs etc while my son is school if I don’t have any other riders. My daughter takes a nap usually around 12pm and sleeps until it’s time to get her brother from school. We go get him and if I don’t have errands or trips we head home. Usually it’s homework time but my son does have two appointments during the week so depending on the day we wait to do homework later. I leave my house again at 5 and head to get a rider and by the time I’m home it’s 7. I cook, help my son with a bath and we are all in bed by 9. Of course some days very.

@sistersmainpiece, yea. I’m really thinking about hiring a full time nanny but I’m not from this area where I live currently so I’m going to have to conduct a lot of interviews.

I do find it hard. My day starts at 5am to get ready for work. Once I get off my 9 hour shift and get home from picking my daughter up from the sitter it’s after 5:30. Then I have to cook dinner, clean up the house and play with her before we start bedtime around 7:30-8. It doesn’t leave much time for any me time and I always feel like my house is a mess. I’ve thought really hard about hiring a cleaning service.

At the end of the day though my baby will only be a baby for awhile and I plan to enjoy it as much as I can.

You just have to find a balance that works for you.

Wow that’s key right there- our babies will only be a baby for a short while. Remembering that this is a short time in our lives and enjoying our babies and kids is important.

I think it will be hard for me to struggle with the guilt of leaving the baby. It already is. I live at the Nicu sitting there next to my baby and the nurses tell me to go home. Relax. Get rest. I feel so guilty for leaving even when it’s a necessity.

I really don't understand the judgment between being a working mom or a stay at home mom. If you need to work, work. If not, don't. No need to degrade other women for doing the opposite of you. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

What do YOU judge

Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?
