I had some minor first degree tearing and still managed to need a good amount of dissolvable stitches. I had an epidural so really just felt pressure. I only pushed for about 20-30 minutes. She was just under 9lbs. I do thank god for my doctor. I had some retained placenta and she was able to get it out without me needing surgery. Wishing you all the best for your home birth. 🤞🏻

I tore with both my girls they were both 8 pounds. My doctor's said because they both came so fast. I had both my girls within 3 or 4 pushes and less than 10 minutes of trying. I had no pain meds at all even after birth all I took was ibuprofen once. I got a second degree tear with my 1st and then a second degree tear but inside my body vs my first was on the outside. Both required stitches which sucked but it didn't matter cus I had my babies to hold while they were doing it.

Pushing too fast can definitely cause very severe tearing, was the pushing natural and it just happened that fast or was the doctor asking you to push before you were ready?

Hoping I don’t have to go to the hospital to get stitches because that would be inconvenient.

You would think a second degree wouldn’t be that much of a tear but I am not too sure.

I watched a video of a women who had a third degree and I cringed so hard, it’s one of my biggest fears while giving birth.

@mamaste The doctors said she was right there to go ahead and push when I was ready. No one believed how fast they were coming and so by the time they checked me some of the girls head was already out. Luckily the doctors were already on the way to the hospital. Both my girls were almost delivered by nurses. Good luck with your home birth. I know it can be done without any medicine or any other interventions. Just focus on the fact that you just got over that painful contraction so you can get over this one. Listening to music also helped and being in the hospital tub helped relaxed me with my first. With my second it went from my water breaking to her coming 25 minutes later.

@queenmami7,

Longer than I thought but it’s all worth it when we hold our babies.

I tore with baby 1 and baby 2, but honestly I didn't feel the tear happen. They were both 1st degree tears. All of my babies have been anywhere from 8.1 lbs to 8.15 lbs. I think it has to do with the elasticity that your body has.

Majority of women tear so that leads me to think it’s probably how women are positioned while birthing.

Laying on the back can cause awful tearing and that’s how majority of women give birth in the hospitals so it makes sense.

@mommyof.1,

Sounds like they stitched too tight and that’s really awful, hopefully you have recovered from the trauma and sex has become enjoyable again.

I had an episiotomy the first time. I had a minor tear that didn't require stitches and healed on its own cleanly the second.

If I tear I hope it’s very minor.

I didn’t tear or have to be cut with any of my kids they were only 5&6 pounds I don’t know if that’s why but I was only sore for like 2 days after birth but had to bite down on a towel to pee I couldn’t imagine having bad tears or being cut. My friend tore front to back with her 10 pound baby she said it was the worst pain ever. They didn’t expect him to be that big .

@mskye4,

When I found out I was pregnant the plan was to have a midwife but when we tried to get in contact with one she gave my husband and I the run around.

We decided to look for another midwife but unfortunately she was pregnant and giving birth around my due date, she recommended another midwife.

When we contacted her recommendation she was going to help us but she wasn’t certified and couldn’t legally see me until October and I didn’t want her to get in trouble so I declined her kind offer.

After that I did research about midwives and it wasn’t that positive and actually terrified me hearing majority aren’t truly qualified or something along those lines.

I do have a doula, my mother in law who is certified to be my assistance so I won’t be alone and we are working on my birth plan together and she has a backup plan.

I’ve been worried about birth and she’s been so encouraging and helping me stay positive by telling me I’m doing everything right, that I am low risk and okay to have a home birth if that’s what I wanted.

@mamaste, well glad you have that support I’ve heard awesome things about doulas and wanted to try it with one of my kids but I don’t know of any in my area or the cost out of pocket plus I’ve had my last two early I’m worried this one will come early too which could mean complications so home birth wouldn’t really work for me. I had a midwife with my first and I loved her she was really supportive more like a friend than a doctor but she has a office with a few other midwives in our hospital so I know they’re definitely qualified but sorry that spoiled your experience with them! I’m sure you’re delivery will be a awesome experience since it’s someone close to you and the baby delivering with you it will be a awesome bonding experience with baby and grandma too!

@mskye4,

I’m glad you had a positive experience with your midwife and congratulations on your pregnancy.

I’m excited that everyone involved in birthing my first child is apart of my life and will be forever, it’s a more than perfect feeling and hopefully a perfect experience.

@mskye4, this time I’d like to go natural but I said that with my first and I couldn’t do it .. hurt way too bad ... I felt like I was hit by a bus in my butt and lower back I literally had no pain in the front of my belly or in my vagina

@flamingfiremom, around 8cm is where it got unbearable for me where I had that feeling of something was in my butt and I had to push and nothing helped but by then I went to pushing 5 mins later and it was already almost over . If your hospital offers a tub I highly recommend it it really does help pain alot and takes pressure off.

I didn’t tear but I had an episiotomy

Ответить

Was the episiotomy your choice or just something the doctor did without permission?

I’d be afraid to be cut but that’s why I’m doing an unassisted home birth.

@mamaste, no they do it to avoid u tearing bkz they know if u push through u will tear bkz of how big the baby is .. getting cut is a faster healing process than a tear bkz a tear can get really bad compared to a little cut
