Sooo my step-daughters mom is allowing her to sit in the front seat in her vehicle. She is only 6 years old. My husband doesn’t know how he should approach the situation. We’ve received phone calls on two different occasions stating that my step daughter was sitting in the front seat, unbuckled with no booster seat or anything. We live in Ohio so this is what I found on the matter online but I never know which information is accurate. 😩 Please no negativity! We’re just trying to find the right info on what to do or how to approach her about it to ensure the safety of the child. 😕
Have him to show her the law for that state and if she keeps on then record her when y'all or someone else could and turn her over.
Just last week a woman was hit head on and it killed her 10 year old. My 13 yr old rides in the back
I would use the link that pps added above and also booster seat information and how to buckle. Have dad do all this since she will fly off the handle anyway. Make it known that this is ONLY about the safety of the child and he isn't "attacking" her.
If that doesn't work work I'd turn her in for child endangerment.
The Ohio revised code as mentioned above is the most detailed document I see concerning this issue. ссылка
My son is 9 and I don't let him sit in the front. If it's illegal she could get a ticket. I'd definitely send her some info about the safety of it.
Yeah I understand I will do some research to maybe help, and I’m wishing you guys get the most positive outcome with her mom concerning this situation.
That’s tough because it’s her child. But a mother should want to put the safety of the child first. Maybe your husband should be the one to address it so she doesn’t feel like you think your a better mother to her child then she is. Maybe he should stress to her the significance and safety of a seatbelt and booster seats. If she can’t still refuses you can report her for child endangerment. Endangering the welfare of a child. Child neglect. Or something. Maybe then she will know at least y’all are serious about her safety and will not turn a blind eye because she’s the mother.
I definitely agree it should be up to him. I wouldn’t be the one to step into that conversation. Definitely should be between them. I just figured I would post on here thinking maybe someone would know more information about it than I do before he brings it up. Gotta have facts first!
OHIO REVISED CODE 4511.81 should provide you with some guidance.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should 🤷🏻♀️ safety will always be an issue. Show some car crash vids and tell her to grow the fuck up
The issue with talking to her about any situation is that she doesn’t consider what we’re saying, she just flies off the handle and gets defensive. I’m seriously so worried about this! And I don’t understand why she doesn’t see it as a concern. My stepdaughter is really little for her age & I’m just blown away that she’s not taking safety seriously. 🤔
@twinmommy1717 there's no reversing a child's death. Hope she knows that. And it can take under 1 second for an accident to occur and change everyone's lives.
?
I was on my way home from picking my DD up. Stopped at a red light and the lady next to me had her newborn in the front seat (rear faced). It was a van, no kids in the back seats. I pray they have safe travels and someone tells her how it is unsafe. I couldn't get her attention or I would have. It gave me anxiety.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

This is actually How I came up with my first daughters name. lol.. ????
I need some help mamas!! My daughter hates her car seat 🙄 today we change her car seat for the one where she can face to the front, but girlll it’s the same she’s always crying making her show and I can’t drive like that she acts like someone’s it’s killing her 😩 any suggestions? How do I calm her down? Any help?
That's very dangerous. She still needs to be in a booster at all times. Honestly still harnessed if she fits. I just moved my oldest to a booster not long ago.
Unless you can turn off the airbag manually it's very unsafe for children to ride in the front seat.
