Is anyone else pregnant and work in a hostile work environment?? I am almost 33 weeks pregnant and I work in a group home with developmentally delayed individuals. I have one client who has attacked me multiple times the last few days and a manager who doesn’t care and won’t try to get my shift covered! I can’t quit because I NEED the money for maternity leave. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do???

Let the manager know if they don’t send someone to help you that you will have no choice but to call the police because you and you’re child’s safety is a concern. (Why doesn’t this place have a security officer to begin with?). I suggest speaking to your Managers supervisor first thing. If they do not offer a safe solution for you right then and there. Go to HR. The managers may not realize how big of a shit storm this could cause. If you have any type of good HR dept, it will be resolved day 1 of complaint. I can not stress enough DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.

Yes absolutely!Your manager is not “managing” ANYTHING,so whoever is above HIM needs to have a serious conversation with him or that guy needs to get fired, because he is putting YOU in danger. If the situation was any worse thats actually a serious LAW SUIT that you have on your hands here for neglecting, because safety is first. And if something bad happens (god forbid) somebody is going to have to take responsibility. There has to be some kind of safety plan in place considering, like you said you ARE already in a group home.Again.That’s a LAW SUIT.Whoever owns this place is responsible that things like that are handled accordingly. And no,it’s not your patients fault, but it is your managers fault and whoever is above him!

Hun.If you feel like he can hurt you to the point that your baby is in danger and you can’t get out the office and no one is responding to you I would call 911 (not sure how serious your situation is) Is your patient on meds? This is unacceptable!! And no amount of money sweetie is it worth to risk your pregnancy EVEN REMOTELY!Your job CLEARLY doesn’t care about you and neither should you than.If the situation is THAT serious call 911 and your patient needs to be put on medication and or retained by doctors!!

My client is deaf, mute, and autistic so when the cops come, they say they don’t know what to tell you and then leave because he is already in a group home. He usually doesn’t act like this so I don’t know why the last few days he has been doing it. I feel like something is bothering him but he can’t communicate what so I think he is acting out. I care about my clients a lot and don’t want to have to quit over bad management. I think I’m just going to have to go over my managers head on Monday and see if it happens again if there is someone else I can contact.

It is light duty but I have a client who cornered me against a wall today and hit me over and over again until another client got between us and I was able to run to the office. We only staff one person during each shift so I called my manager and the on call manager and they aren’t even going to try to have someone come in to fill in for the rest of my shift. I’m not sure what I can do because yesterday he threw a glass cup at my stomach. Ir hit me in the ribs, so baby is okay, but they wouldn’t cover the rest of that shift either. And it’s only 3 hours! But I can’t spend the entire 3 hours hiding in the office, I need to pee already!!

need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

So I finally told my job that I’m pregnant now that I’ve reached my second trimester, and my boss said she wants a note every month saying I can still work or I will be terminated, I feel like she is making my pregnancy into an illness and I feel extreme discriminated, Also I have asked others who are pregnant and who have been pregnant there and no one else has been told they need to do this, I’ve worked through all my pregnancies and never had a job tell me I need a note to keep working because I am pregnant, I feel like they pick and chose who they want to pick on , does this sound normal to anyone has anyone else experienced something like this I honestly am ready to contact a lawyer I 100% feel like it’s discrimination what do y’all think ?
