I find it amazing how strangers get offended when they try to talk to my daughter & I tell her she better not respond without my approval, pull the hood of the stroller down mid sentence or I tell them don’t talk to her. I don’t want her in the habit of thinking everyone’s intentions are pure. The world is a very bad place.

Amen 🙏 my son is turning 2 here in a few days, he says hi to everyone, literally everyone when we are at stores, etc. I've been trying to teach him to not talk to strangers, it's how I was raised, I was well aware as a kid that the world was not pure, that's how I want my son to be, it's good to teach kids early in their life, especially girls in my opinion 🙏 good job Mama🙃 @makeupmomplustwo_

Agreed. Speaking to strangers opens the door to too much trust & everyone’s heart isn’t pure. I’m very firm on stranger danger. When my daughter says hi to random people I tell her to stop 😂

Freak getting offended , that should even be a thing . Some people are just too friendly and I don’t like they . Cause once kids think they can talk to strangers they get to comfortable, what if that stranger offered the kid candy since the kids think it’s ok to speak they take it and start a while convo .
One day a lady offered my sons. Lollipop I politely took it and tossed it right in the street , she looked like :0 ,,,lady idek you lol

At least you understand my point lmao. I don’t go by rules and research, I go by how I want to raise my child. I don’t trust anybody around my kid in all reality, but the lady on the street was so heartbroken that I told my child not to talk to her lmao. My parents didn’t play that shit with us, even with me being grown my dad still be like don’t talk to nobody on the street, even the Uber drivers 😂

I used to be so concerned about people thinking my child was rude when she didn’t answer back to a strangers hello but then I really thought about it. Why am I forcing her to be nice and respond to a stranger? Yes, studies show children should practice talking with strangers and most danger comes from family BUT if she doesn’t want to talk or if she gets bad vibes, I am totally okay with allowing her to choose whom she wants to speak to 🤷🏾♀️ now I tell her don’t speak to anyone until I say it’s okay first and to make sure daddy or mommy is with her. She knows what to do if she’s in trouble and when we’re not around but I no longer force it.
