The baby slept all night last night. I woke her up at 4 to eat and I pumped after and then she slept the rest of the night. She had no intention on waking up. Is that normal? Can she do that? She seems so little still to be sleeping through the night already.

I’m just pumping because I want to. Not because she’s not waking up. I pumped last night because I was in a lot of pain because I was so full. But the pumping is for a different reason.
My daughters pediatrician said 1-3 hours during the day every 3 hours at night. So I’ll just do that since everyone says they were told different things lol
My daughters dr said not to let her sleep past 4 hrs however she was 5lbs 14 oz at birth. Once she hit 4 weeks, I was allowed to let her sleep through the night. I still wake her at 7 to eat but thats more because I get engorged than anything else
@itsybitsymunchkin, See I was told to wake her up to feed her but we did have a weight scare and she’s on vitamins now until we stop breastfeeding but she’s well over 8lbs now and she was 7lbs 14oz at birth. I was more worried about my supply so I at least wanted to pump but I didn’t want to pump and then have her be like “sike I’m hungry mom feed me” so I fed her for 15 minutes first lol @sistersmainpiece,
Oh wow. Because, I got told not to wake up my son when he sleeps throughout the night without crying to eat. They say we got the lucky ones who will sleep through the whole night. My son was born at 8lbs 10.4oz and he always gained weight when I was doing both breast milk and formula. I only could pump out my milk, because he didn’t want to latch on.
Some people will tell you to wake every 2 hours to feed and others say baby will wake when hungry. As long as she isn’t under her birth weight or having weight issues I don’t see anything wrong with letting her wake on demand to eat.

My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Waking to feed?
My dd is a week old and I was told by her doctor to wake her every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night to feed her. For the first 3 days I did that and when I would wake her fit a night feeding she was fussy and usually wouldn't go back to sleep and would want to nurse constantly until about 9 am. I tried not waking her last night and she slept beautifully! She woke up around 6 hours in and ate then slept another hour or so and ate again. Is it ok to let her sleep?
I got the balloon inserted at 6:45pm and it's now 2:40am. I slept for a few hours but am now just laying here awake. I was bummed because the last time I was in labor and had the balloon, I was in so much pain with the contractions, I was up all night.
My daughter slept 5-6 hours and then I’d wake her up to eat, but she was a sleepy baby and I had to wake her during the day too. That only lasted for about a month then she woke up on her own. My son has been sleeping through the night since birth and I let him! He slept 7-8 hours as a newborn and then by 3 months he was sleeping 9-10 hours. He nursed every hour during the day so I wasn’t worried and I wanted to sleep. You just have to go with your baby’s cues. You definitely don’t need to pump though. Your supply will regulate to your baby’s needs. I’ve never pumped at night and I breastfed my daughter til 2.5 years and still nursing my son at almost 17 months.
