So there’s this debate going on, on fb on a mom group. We agree that children should know their private parts by their name. But they’re debating (and it’s heated for no reason 🤷🏽♀️) because technically the vagina is the interior and the Vulva is the outside so some moms are saying they should be taught to say vulva since that’s what the outside is called, they think kids shouldn’t be taught to say vagina. What are you thoughts?
We just say vagina unless they need to say vulva specifically.
I have always thought teaching little kids vagina is a little premeditated. My daughter knows what her vulva is
@itsmely, lol I joined this mom group yesterday it hasn’t even been a day and I went on fb for the first time today and saw this, removed myself from that group lol keep your negativity lol
@itsmely, should have known before I deleted myself from the group 😆
You introduce to them these technical terms when they’re able to see the difference. Small children as long as they know that’s their vagina.
I think it’s an unreasonable distinction to expect little kids to differentiate between anyways. I assume they are talking small children here. “These flaps here? Vulva. The inside your hole here? Vagina”.
The whole “call it by it’s name” is to prevent or help to prevent child abuse. Calling a vagina “cookie” to your kid...if something AWFUL happened. Nobody is going to know what she’s talking about with “cookie”. Not a single person is going to mistake what a vagina is if the child means her labial folds instead 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I just actually read it all and thats ridiculous. Call it a vagina. Want to be technical, they'll learn it eventually
Yea, either way vulva or vagina if a little girl says someone touched her vulva her mom will know what she means.
My daughter knows the difference. We refer to it generally as vagina.
That’s what I thought I mean yes technically it is vulva from the outside but we don’t hear females say “I have a vulva”
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Things I never thought I'd say...
Until I became a mom:
We are having a debate at work....
Should you pick up hitchhikers?
It just bugs me out how some ppl are afraid to say VAGINA on here. Referencing it as "my down there area" or "my lady parts"... Are you serious?!?! Lol Like c'mon now. We are all women... We all have VAGINAS... We are all either moms, soon to be moms or trying to become a mom...so please cut it out. Own and embrace your VAGINAS!!!!! Say it with me. VAGINA VAGINA VAGINA !!!!! ❤️😘
some girls should shut the hell up .. they always say if you don't have something nice to say then don't say it ! I hate judgmental people with closed minded views .
We just say vagina unless they need to say vulva specifically.
