I went to what was supposed to be my 10 week visit this morning. The doctor pulls out the Doppler to check the baby’s heartbeat. She wasn’t successful and told me not to worry. She grabbed the ultrasound machine and got really quiet. At this moment I knew something wasn’t right. She told me that she was unable to locate a heartbeat, and I’m measuring 6w 5d (abdominal ultrasound). I’m hurt but also confused, because my last visit I was measuring 7w 2d (transvaginal ultrasound). She told me to return in a week for a final ultrasound and to determine if I would prefer a d&c or going the natural way. I’m so hurt, because I was excited about my little baby. I just don’t understand what could’ve possibly caused this. Today just isn’t a good day for me. It just breaks my heart that my little baby heart stopped 4 weeks ago, and I wasn’t even aware until today.
