😭 oy what a first night back...Haley didn't eat well at all last night (3 small feedings, about 5/10mins when I know she can nurse for longer and has) I was getting frustrated with myself cause it should be so natural, just put her on and she eats but it hurts so dang much I have to put nipple cream on before and after a feeding....she's has lost 7% of her birth weight (7lbs instead of 7lbs 9oz) it's like she'd nurse for about 10mins and then about 30mins later she'd want to eat again which frustrates me cause she just ate and then we struggle to latch again til she finally does and then she does it again feeds for a couple of minutes and then gets hungry again...getting horrible flashbacks to when I couldn't nurse my first and I feel like I just can't do it...
Update: the morning has been better and after talking it over with my hubby we decided on this plan. Plan a is to nurse as much as I can and during the day she does well but plan b is if we have another night of struggling to eat then we'll bottle at night
I used a shield with Molly and I don't remember what happened with it, no biggie I think Walmart has some
@armywife72515 try and get some rest during the day today so it helps for tonight. Nights might be tougher especially if you are having latching, cranking nipple issues. You are doing great, it just takes time to adjust.
@scidg3 yeah I am left nipple was cracked and we're slowly figuring it out
RELAX!!! Number one thing to hinder milk production Is if you’re stressed about it!! At 3 days I remember my boys nursing for only a few mins then falling asleep but waking up soon after to eat again. Those first few weeks I felt all I did was nurse lol. Sorry!! Try to not put so much pressure on yourself. They have such small bellies at that age that nursing for a few mins is ok!
@ss3mom @purplelovemamaof4 @unicornprincessx3 thanks for listening to my rant
@armywife72515, anytime love!! I’ve been in your shoes before so I know how hard it is with a young toddler and a newborn. But I will promise u it’s amazing having them so close in age!
It's going to be ok... Take a deep breath and push through that pain and babies have very small stomachs at the begining and they tend to fall asleep on the boob...so don't give up!! If you need to for the pain pump a little after a feeding it will bring in milk supply and it will aclimate your breasts to breastfeeding!! Try air drying after each feed it will keep bacteria down and it will also help with soreness rub some breast milk on nipples after too and let that air dry on them it will help I promise!!! Hang in there mama !!
@purplelovemamaof4 the hospital pediatrician said that she has an uncommon form of a tongue tie that the skin under her tongue is thicker than usual
@purplelovemamaof4 they didn't do anything about it
It's normal for them to loose in the beginning. Give her a week. Also you milk should be coming in which is more filling than colostrum.
I know it's normal for them to lose weight but I don't want her to lose too much...just feels like I can't do it...I keep trying and it's like she doesn't get a good latch which leads to us struggling to get on for who knows how long and by the time she finally does latch she wore herself out and falls asleep
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
Waking to feed?
My dd is a week old and I was told by her doctor to wake her every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night to feed her. For the first 3 days I did that and when I would wake her fit a night feeding she was fussy and usually wouldn't go back to sleep and would want to nurse constantly until about 9 am. I tried not waking her last night and she slept beautifully! She woke up around 6 hours in and ate then slept another hour or so and ate again. Is it ok to let her sleep?

I am sick to death of my in laws telling me how fat Scarlett is, and asking me what I feed her! Does she look fat to you? No!

Guys if I was looking at a place to rent on Craigslist and I go to click on the ad again and this pops up does that mean it's a scam?? I need to know because my boyfriend and I have been talking to the person !!

Does this sound like im moaning?
Oh gone out for the night yet again
From where he said "im starting again" i said to grace daddy is going out so say night night
Idk if anyone else has mentioned, but all of this is completely normal. The more often she latches the better, she is trying to get your milk to come in. If you decide to do bottle and want to BF then you need to pump when she wakes up to take the place of her feeding off you. It's a struggle in the beginning and take a bit to get adjusted but push through. Do you have a nipple shield? She might be a little lazy and have a small mouth. I use one the first month I think off and on if it was painful. Good luck, you can do it!!
