I literally wouldn’t have an opinion on what the next mom spends on her own child for any birthday.

I don't spend that kind of money. Oh well though it's her kid I guess she can spend what she wants.

I think if it’s something that they can use for a couple of year then by all means. But if it’s something they will grow out of quickly it’s a waist!

We spent quite a bit on his party, but only got him one or 2 small gifts. He’s the first grandchild and both sets of grandparents and aunts and uncles and Gd parents all spoiled him, but we made sure to ask for clothes and books over toys. I also managed to resell most of his decorations, so that helped. My youngest’s first bday won’t be as big, but he’ll still get the photographer and smash cake (we’re repeat customers and friends with our family photog so she gives us a discounted rate).

If only y’all knew the whole backstory lmao, but you don’t. I still stick & stand by my opinion and you’re more than welcome to have yours and I’ll respect that 🙂

If she can afford it and that’s what she wants to get, props to her. I definitely wouldn’t be on social media bashing my sister. That’s her child not yours let her rise her the way she wants, sounds like she has a very spoiled little girl. Happy baby , happy momma!

I spend around 200 on gifts also for my sons first birthday parties and there party event around 400. I mean it’s her money she can buy what she wants with it. And I hate the saying oh why did you do this or that for your kid they aren’t going to remember it. I feel like as a parent weather your kid remembers it or not it’s always going to be a memory for you as a parent. Let your sister spoil her daughter and just be happy for her.

I would just be grateful instead of saying that’s dumb . When someone gives me or my daughter a gift we are grateful that’s how I am going to raise my daughter

If she can afford it great! Tell her to pay it forward and donate it when she's done with it..I'm guilty of over spending when it comes to my daughter's birthday but I usually splurge on just one item and buy her sensible things that she needs as well.

It depends what it is. If it seems useful, reusable and worth the money than yes. But if it’s more for my sake (cause it’s cute or fun) than no.

We bought kaysen a standing up toy for his first birthday and kooper a mini ball pit thing that was on clearance 😂🤷‍♀️ I didn’t go all out but that’s just me and there grandmas spoils them with to much crap
