Why is it that waking-up-in-pain pain is more intense than being awake and having it gradually hit kind of pain?

I woke up as my husband’s alarm was going off to a super cramp. It took my breath away for a minute and I was just glad it went away and that I didn’t startle my husband with it.

After a minute of being awake, it either passed or I was able to mentally tell myself it couldn’t still hurt. I’m still tired and a little out of it.

Was it a contraction? Or was it just a bad position I was sleeping in? I’ll never know, all I know is that really hurt for a minute. 😭

Is it by your abdomen. I get them too I believe. I been getting side pains. Don’t know if they are contractile or Braxton Hicks.

It was just my very lower uterus, on the right side. I think it ended up just being my uterus itself because I tried laying down on my right side again later in the night and it instantly hurt again. Baby must have been in a weird position or something.
