My son does not share! 🙁 anyone else ever have issues? We always correct him or try to have him give another child a toy to play with if that child wants the toy my son is playing with. He will give the child another toy sometimes. It’s literally an everyday struggle. At the drs office, at my step sisters house, at the park! He especially does not like my step sisters kids! She has 2 girls 1 boy. He does not play well with them at all. My grandmother adopted my other stepsisters daughter named Myiah. He plays well with her. She’s an only child though and they’ve spent a little more time together than the other kids but not much. Myiah will tell my son, Austin and stand her ground if he’s being mean but my stepsisters 2 girls won’t. Maybe that’s why Myiah and Austin get along better? I’m not sure. I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be looked at as the parent who lets her child do whatever and be mean to other kids. It’s so hard sometimes. I have another on the way and my SIL made the comment that he needs to learn how to share or else we will be in trouble. I try to do what I can especially with my stepsisters kids because they’re so little compared to my son even though they’re around the same age. Any advice?
We were at Austin’s cousins birthday party and Malaya(a little over 1 yo) wanted to play with one of those piano toys. My son did have it first but she don’t know that! She’s just 1! He wasn’t playing with it anymore. The only way we could get him to stop having a fit was by telling him if he wanted that toy he had to give her his football. Im not sure if I’m doing this the right way or if we need to approach it differently.

Have you tried role playing with another adult? I think kids like to mock the behaviors they see the most. I taught my daughter by intentionally announcing that it was daddy's turn to have the remote. I'll say "Ok now it's time to share. Here's the remote daddy!" And she wanted to reenact what I was doing. I thought this would work because I noticed she likes to repeat ever single thing I say and do so I used it as a learning experience.

I might have to try that! He hardly shares with us honestly. It’s just us three at home. We don’t get out much besides the park and our families. He won’t let me play unless I say something like “ but momma wants to play too!” After he’s already screamed no, mine! He will then let me play with the toys he decides.

That's a start! I was going to also say you can ask him if he wants to share with you while playing. He will definitely say no but if you role play with his toys as well, he might catch on. (I did this with my daughter's toys and looked ridiculous lol) but it helps. I would pretend I was sharing with her dolls and showed how thankful the doll was when I shared
