First week of school, first FOUR days and autumn already got sick from someone at school. I assume because that's the only place she's gone and she hasn't been around any other kids than school.. So tomorrow morning I'm calling her doctor and hopefully getting her in before school starts but if not then I'm keeping her home till she sees the doctor. No need to get more kids sick. I'll never understand why parents would send their kids to school sick just to get other kids sick, especially in a special needs class where not only kids are more medically fragile (like autumn has a lower immune system I'm pretty sure) but they are harder to deal with sick..

It’s very normal for kids to get sick when they start school, especially kids who haven’t been around other kids very much. Something that could’ve been simple sniffles to a kid who has been around kids could’ve been more serious in your daughter. Unfortunately this is probably just the beginning of her getting sick often. Not sure what she has, but I hope she feels better soon!

Thank you. And I expected her to get sick from school but not the first week.. But yea she does get sick easily. She was constantly sick up until A year old.. Its nothing we're doing or not doing, she just gets sick easily. We didn't over shelter her from germs as A infant. We had animals, she played in the dirt/mud but she's still easily sickened. She was hospitalized 3 times at 4 months old from a virus she had.... But I think now she just has a regular cold, but won't know till she sees her doctor tomorrow. Idk if a low immune system is connected with autism but I'm like 99%sure she has a low immune system. I say that because I know that digestive trouble is connected with autism. So I'm not sure what all is connected or not..

Yep school started on Tuesday for my daughter (she's also special needs) and by Thursday she had a runny nose.

That's crazy! Autumn started Monday but was off Friday. But yea they get sick so easily and people are careless with their sick kids, sending them to school.. I hope she feels better soon🖤

@mimilovee thank you! And yes! There is more of an emotional attachment to your own kids plus you have to take your own kids home, even sick lol it makes it worse on us, the parents.

I’m with you 100% on that, my son went to school last week and a couple kids that sits at his table was sick and guess what happened to him, he got what ever they had. So I pumped him up full of vitamin c and now he’s doing better. A friend of mine and I were talking about this on Friday about parents sending their kids to school while being sick. We both figured that they don’t want to deal with it but they will have too.

Right. I feel like that's lazy parenting.. like you don't want to deal with your sick kid at home so you just send them anyways, or the parents that say, you're not that bad you can go to school. But in pre k?? I feel they're just lazy.. I don't want to deal with a sick kid just like the next parent but I will so that other kids don't get sick too

yep so true, I would never send my sick child to school. Some parents need a reality check real quick
Lauren🖤··
yes! I'm frustrated because now she's gonna miss school and my youngest will probably get sick too.
