How do you guys get your toddlers to sleep in there own room?
My boy is 1 and has been in his own room for about 3 weeks and not spent one full night in there he wakes up screaming and won't re settle unless he is in bed with me and my partner. This has only been happening since he has been in his own room when we shared a room he would sleep all night no problem
Any tips would be great

Took a while when we moved house in December he would fall asleep in our bed we would carry him through then I tried putting him to bed in his room and lying in with him him (not easy toddler bed and pregnant at the time) then sat on end of bed then holding his hand at the side then just sitting at the side. Then gradually moving away took until May and now he gets up after in the night garden brushes his teeth asks for a story and walks to bed shouting bye mum 😂
Was a very long hard and tiring process but he never got too stressed which is the main thing.
Before we moved he was in a cot and I would place him in wide awake and say night without a problem

we have always had it on in the background and taken him to bed at that time for his story he doesn’t watch it much.
Hopefully you get there quicker than we did. I don’t think the house move and new baby helped the process for us. I think he could have done it quicker otherwise.
Also when I moved him to his big bed I had to tell him he could climb out 😂 so now instead of shouting me he comes to our bed in the morning which helps as my hubby works away and I’m normally feeding his sister. I take a fresh sippy cup of water and and apple to my room just in case she is still feeding it occupies him

haha aww bless my partner and I have to move again soon somewhere bigger and more appropriate and we are due a baby in december I guess I'm going to have to just keep trying. We was thinking of getting him a toddler bed for his new room when we move so we can paint the cot and get it ready for his sister so that's going to make it worse xx

I never had my daughter in my bed or in my room and I never had this problem 🤷♀️ maybe it'll start when she gets her big girl bed next week

I was never brave enough to do it. Everyone said we should because the transition is so difficult but I was constantly checking on him and he was in a cot right next to my bed 😂
My friend put her little on in her own room at 9 weeks, she was sleeping through by 11 weeks

@jamie123 well I had a monitor and I was able to see that her chest was going up and down which meant she was breathing. I could see if she had wiggled out of her blanket and had anything on her face. She suffered with acid reflux so sleep was not for long periods of time before I found out what it was and she started taking antacids. Once we started doing that she slept fine and so did we lol

I set up a bed on the floor in Theos room. When he woke up I'd go in and lay on the floor with my hand in his cot. He'd cry for a while but eventually stop before dropping off. When he fell asleep I'd leave so he got used to waking up alone. After a few days he stopped waking up x

@jamie123 I'll have to try it my belly is getting to big now and osian keeps kicking me in the night because he fidgets haha plus I'm due come Christmas so need him in his own room ready. Last thing I need is the baby waking osian up haha xx

honestly the first week will be hell. You'll be so tired, but it doesn't last forever, one night he'll just sleep through and that will be it 😂 xx

@jamie123 I can't wait haha xx
