Went to my appt this morning. The ultrasound tech said she thought she found a small hole in baby’s heart. Doc came in & looked. He told me “if there is one then it is very small & usually will fix itself before baby is born.” So does that mean there’s a hole? They both told me not to stress it but obviously I’m concerned 😞😞 anyone else had similar thing happen to them?

I was told it’s actually very common for babies to be born with small holes that close themselves. My cousin was born with a larger hole and they monitored it for a few months and it got smaller

Tech usually aren’t even allowed to disclose something like that. They aren’t DRs. Sounds like Dr isn’t concerned with his “if” and likely wouldn’t have told you because it is very common and corrects itself out.

My son was born with a heart murmur. We saw a pediatric cardiologist when he was a couple weeks old and he said it was resolving itself already.

My daughter had several large VSDs when she was born and they all closed on their own before she turned one
