My step son is going into his second year of preK. His first year it was a lot of reassurance that he was going to have fun, meet new friends and of course that we would be there to pick him up after. We also made sure to ask him what and how he did during the day at school after each day. Their were days that he just looked sad leaving and he'd tell us either he did something he shouldn't have or that one of his friends did but it gave him the opportunity to open up about things and for us to have talks about it.

This year he can't wait for school to start.
