Any mama's have a baby that has a herniated belly button? If so, what ended up happening to it as they got older?
@alle2011 yea don't worry too much now. They often resolve without intervention.
My daughter has one, they said if it’s not gone by her fifth birthday they will do surgery.
@thawkins it's more of a cosmetic procedure right? It doesn't cause any issues?
@alle2011, Not that I’m aware of. We really didn’t discuss it a lot because she was a year old and said come back in four if it’s not gone, so we’ve just been waiting for it to go away.
My daughter had one when she was little and I did ask my doctor about it when she was ONE and they said that if it dosent go in by it self when she was 4 or 5 they’ll have to fix it surgically. But hers went in around 2 1/2 years old.
@mommytoveralang oh I see what you mean! I wonder if there's a chance it could pop out again since it looks like its still there just not popped outward.
@alle2011, yeah I have wondered that also her pediatrician doesn’t seem to worry about it popping back out but I’m getting ready to take her for her 4 year check up I’ll have to ask if it could pop out and what happens if it does. I’ll have to let you know what her pediatrician says
@mommytoveralang I'm sure it won't pop back out but it definitely looks like it wants to. I would ask just to make sure. I feel like if she strained it would pop out but if the pediatrician assures you it won't then you're good!
My niece did and a lot of babies I know they usually wait yo see if it goes in.
My first child didn't have one whatsoever but my second child does. It's not going down and I really hope he doesn't need surgery to fix it. I'm hoping it'll go down before he's a year old.
Yes. Ours fixed itself around four months.
