I know, its not major. Its just the thought of him being in pain, even tho nursing is practically excruciating at this point. I know its for his benefit and also to help keep breastfeeding

Maddox had a tongue tie and they wanted to clip it.
I didn’t agree with doing that so chose not to. Now he’s perfectly fine. No speech issues and he never had issues latching.
Do your research and make that decision for yourself.

have you tried a nipple shield? That can be helpful with latch and pain.
Best of luck! Either way everything will be okay for your babe!

I know it’s scary, but it will be really fast! We were referred to the oral surgeon. They evaluated her and did it right away. They took her from me, and brought her back probably within about 8 minutes. We sat there and nursed right away. They came back and took a look and said you’re good to go! Called to check on us the next day, but everything was great! (The very first thing they said when she came out was that she had a tongue tie.). Very best of luck to you both!

My son has a tongue and lip one . Doctor kept saying not to clip it . Ended up stopping breastfeeding cause he could never latch right so it made my milk supply slow down drastically. And now he has a gap in his two front teeth . I’ve seen others have it . It’s very fast . And the longer you wait , then he could end up having to go under for it . Good luck . You’ll be thankful you did it

It takes long to hold the tongue to the roof of the mouth then to actually clip it. My son is having the procedure next week. Depending on how close to the tip of the tongue the webbing is will dictate if there are speech or eating issues. On the plus side there's practically no healing time needed.
