I got induced at 39 weeks with my son. Before having these mom apps I had no clue that there was no reason for induction unless medical reasons. I thought it was the right option because my dad and step mom are truck drivers so I’d be stuck with no family, all alone. I was like many first time moms excited and had many questions! I regret it now and I hope that I can go into labor naturally this time because if I have the choice I’m not going to do it. If you’ve been induced don’t be offended please. I just feel like I missed out on the whole experience of actual labor. I wanted all the stuff in the movies even though it doesn’t always happen like that lol (water breaking, contractions, head to the hospital!) at the time my dr called 37 weeks full term so I thought nothing of it. I’m glad I started using these forums because other moms really help me with questions because I have no mother figure or anything like that. I’ve never really talked about my induction on here, I did on baby bump. Everything went pretty smoothly besides my epidural only working on half of my body. Everyone says inductions are 10x worse than actual labor I guess I will see when I get closer to my due date.

Idk. After an induction at 40 weeks and an emergency c section at 29 weeks, the idea of going into labor naturally kind of scares me. 😭 I assume I’ll be induced again.

I don’t trust any doctor that offers induction unless medically necessary.
It heightens the chance of c-section, and doctors make 3x as much off a surgery. My first OB was like, “I’m telling you this, and your tell your friends - if a doctor offers induction just because you’re 39/40 weeks and for no other reason, walk away!.”.
Due dates can be up to two weeks wrong! Just because your, what you think is, 40 weeks, that doesn’t mean your baby or body is ready.

I wish someone would have told me this or I researched more. I have a different doctor this time and the dr who delivered my son started talking about a csection after me pushing for a hour and a half. My son did end up coming a couple minutes later and idk after it all I just feel like my son wasn’t ready it makes sad sometimes because I didn’t know. I wasn’t dilated at all, and I hadn’t dropped or had any signs besides my mucous plug (I know those regenerate themselves)

I was induced with my first at 39weeks for pre e. It was awful. 26 hours horrible contractions. Epidural failed. I was terrified when they said my protein was high for my son. I was so scared I’d have to be induced again. But the next night my water broke and it was 7 hours. Epidural was heaven and pushed twice. I would never opt for an induction unless medically necessary. I hope things go smooth for you and you get to experience it the way you want.

With my 1st son I went naturally but the contractions were not strong like they needed to be so they helped me but mind you every hospital is different and also he was full term and. Everything went well 2nd baby I'm full term they gave me an option but we gave my 2nd boy time to. Break but I just kept losing more of my plug and dilating more so mind you I have seizures and I said yes to being induced so next week on a Tuesday I will be getting induced

Prayers for a healthy delivery! My dad has had seizures all his life. We always live in a constant fear of the next seizure. I wish you and your family the best ❤️.

My doctor offered it to me this last time because I already had two kids so it would be “easier” to have it planned so I could find a sitter. She was gonna have a nurse call me and I left there and was excited for just a minute about having her but then I felt instantly bad and guilty. I knew that was selfish and changed my mind. The nurse called me to set it up and I told her this. She really had an attitude and was like “well don’t you have two other children??.. I thought you wanted to plan this easier” I was like “don’t worry about my children. I got that handled.. I’m not doing it.” And she ended up coming on her own naturally 3 days before her due date. And she was the fastest and easiest one.

Omg! That happened to me too. The epidural only worked on half of my body. So scary.
