I know all drs are different and I’m not even gonna get my hopes up or anything. I probably won’t even ask my dr. But when typically will drs induce? At how many? Would they discuss it with you? I’m curious to find out if my dr will say anything about inducing me when I go to my appointment on Tuesday, by then I will be 40 weeks the next day.

Mine started asking me at 38 weeks and we set it up at 40 weeks 1 day

38 weeks?! Did you make it to your induction? Why was it brought up so early? You don’t have to answer that if it’s personal or something sorry.

@bubbys.mommy, the hospital won’t do it any earlier than 38 weeks. She was head down and ready at 35 weeks so we were preparing early. I was dilated to 3 at this point also. I was just so uncomfortable and also had 3 kids in school so that’s why I went ahead and made the decision. And he did membrane sweeps on me every day for a week to try to get things working itself and it didn’t help. So yes I made it to my induction and it was actually the easiest labor experience I had! I knew when I was going in and had everything set up with my older kids and it was soo less stressful

Depends on the Dr. Some won't induce until you are past your due date, others will offer to induce at 39w.

Yeah I knew I’d get completely different answers. I just remember when I had my son i was 39 weeks and 1 day(I am today too) I was stuck for hours at 5cm so she had to intervene and said I’d be induced if her breaking my water didn’t help me progress within the hour. I know I was already in labor in the hospital then but I’m still “stuck” at 5cm and I’m 39wks 1day so idk. After my mom telling me she has shingles I don’t want to force her out just yet anymore anyway.

At the beginning of my pregnancy my ob said that unless I went past 41 weeks I wouldn't be induced.
