My husband just said that taking Care of the kids is easy and I should be able to do it easily..

My husband just said that taking Care of the kids is easy and I should be able to do it easily..

Taking Care of A 20 month old and an autistic 3 year old everyday, by yourself, all day and night is not easy.. they fight with each other(sometimes physically) and with me, autumn will head butt you and hurt you by hitting, kicking, head butting, slamming her head backwards into your face, etc. and she will hurt herself: head banging, scratching, biting, etc.. And hazel GETS INTO EVERYTHING! I can go pee for a few minutes and come back to the house destroyed or something torn up into pieces because hazel decided to.. And they will not listen to A word i say.. How do you discipline an autistic child that is only 3 and you can't raise your voice, you can't yell, you can't spank/pop, hell, you can't even tell her to stop nicely without her freaking out, screaming/crying, banging her head, hitting what ever she was doing and then doing what i asked her to stop doing again but worse.. And I can't punish hazel because autumn will freak out.. So I'm just stuck.. And all this is supposed to be so easy.. And if nothing else it just simply breaks my heart for autumn that I can't fix her "problems" for her so i just feel like crying with her some days.. So anyways I'm dealing with all that and all while they are screaming, crying and climbing me.. They have their good times, playing and laughing and getting along but there is a lot of the screaming and fighting and melting down everyday..

You don’t even have to justify it. He’s wrong. Some days are easier than others but it’s challenging every day! Autism or not. Just in general. Hang in there mama!

Sounds like you need to plan a weekend getaway and have him fend for himself with the kids. Tell all family willing to help, not to help him since he thinks it's "so easy"

seriously..lol.. He messes it all up.. And the girls like having things done certain ways, especially autumn. I try to do everything pretty much the same everyday just to make her life a little easier on her. The girls do act better for him than me also.. Plus he tries to watch them for me to like run to the store and he'll be texting/calling rushing me because he's overwhelmed...I'm like seriously dude..I've done this everyday for 3 years! Also he can not stand being in the house just sitting around, he gets fidgety, so he couldn't watch them all day anyways.. I tell him that I don't like being in the house all day with the girls some days and he's always like just bring them outside then..Umm we live in TEXAS its like 100° most days. Hazel is red headed and pale and autumn is also pale.. they will burn bad outside and over heat.. He's just so clueless it seems like.. This is why I get so frustrated with him especially when he says dumb ass comments like that raising them is easy. Well Hell yea itd be easier if I only "babysat" MY OWN KIDS like twice a week for 10 mins to 2 hours at most while my wife grocery shops usually or goes to a doctor appointment..what a break. 🙄

he sounds hideous. The audacity to say it's easy when he can't even last a short shopping trip 🤦🤦🤦

right.. He's A great guy (usually) and a good father (when he tries) he takes very good Care of us financially, he's the hardest working guy I've ever met along with my dad, but he just gets stupid sometimes and says stuff like that..

Taking care of kids is definitely not easy, especially when you have a little one who has extra needs. My husband said that once to me when he got home from work. I grabbed my purse and walked out the door. Left him to do dinner, bath and bed. Then I planned a weekend getaway to my parents while he kept the kids. He definitely knows how challenging it is now... you sound like you could use some time to yourself.

That's awesome that you did that! I wouldn't trust that I'd come home to the kids in one piece, he messes up EVERYTHING with helping with them.. He made cups the other night to help out... he forgot the air flow valves! So the next morning I spent 20 mins cleaning milk off hazel and her room/bed instead of just spending 5 minutes the night before making cups myself.. He messes up autumns sleep meds, we used to dissolve them in the cups at night but I learned it works better to just give it to her to chew up before bed and I told him that And he still put it in her cup. He's just careless and I don't trust him with certain small things. I mean the kids would be alive still when I got back but I'd feel bad for the girls.. He ignores their whines and cries, thinking they're just being annoying or cranky but in reality both my girls are almost 100% nonverbal, so the fits/whines/cries are how they communicate and get their needs met. Autumn is autistic and hazel is delayed in speech so they don't talk much at all.
