Spent this weekend with my in laws. Woke up expecting a mellow day, turns out no one could watch the other grand kids so we have two extra kiddos to hang out with today. The oldest two- my son Aarem and my step sister in law’s daughter are birthday twins, Aarem is just one year younger; they get along well and are playing outside. I love it.
I find it fun for Aarem and Oliver to have cousins and a big family. I was second generation only child so I didn’t have aunts/uncles or cousins. My second cousins were all older than me so I didn’t get to grow up with anyone close in age.

Siblings and I are not close to any of our cousins, so we’re making sure our kids know each other well along with the rest of our family. I’m not overly concerned with great grandparents and other extended family who we’re not close to, but grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are a priority! Just with my side of the family we’re a group of 17! (My parents, 8 siblings, 2 spouses, and 5 grandkids)
