My son the past few days has started having a stutter(?) At the end of his words. It's only words that don't end in a vowel. He repeats the sound at the end of the word. Like Truck-k-k-k, hot-t-t-t, cup-p-p-p, this-s-s-s. He repeats the sound of the last letter in the word at least three times or more and in a whisper. It's not happening constantly in every sentence every time he says these words but it's happening a lot. He doesn't seem any kind of amused by it so I'm not sure if he's doing it on purpose or not. I'm not sure of he's developing some kind of speech problem honestly or if I need to call his doctor about it. It started about four days ago and he's been doing it consistently since ive noticed it. What do you ladies think? Anyone else's kid do this? He's nearly three and he's been speaking completely normally up until this point.

My youngest started doing this right when she turned 3. I was told by my pediatrician not to worry that it can happen when they are excited, tired, feels rushed while speaking. Slowing down our conversations help so we model good speech habits speaking in a relaxed manner ,an patients when my youngest is talking ie telling her older sister to wait her turn to talk, not to interrupt.
