My mom never sent me to preschool. My brother and sister went but I did just fine. I started kindergarten 2 weeks after my 5th birthday. I don’t think she ever regretted it. I think it’s depends on you, your child and their needs.
Kindergarten is the new first grade in most regions. Studies have shown that preschool when help students be successful in the long run. If you have the opportunity to put your child in preschool (especially if the program is free) take advantage of it
My last 3 kids didn’t go to preschool & I don’t regret it at all. I would teach them myself their abc’s, colors, shapes, songs & how to even write & spell their name. They turned out fine my son will start next year until he turns 5.
My oldest didn’t attend and I’m not sending my second. Mostly because I don’t think it’s necessary for them to be away from me at such a young age. I don’t have regrets of not sending my first at all.
I haven’t sent my daughter & I don’t regret it! She isn’t potty trained fully & I don’t trust anyone changing her besides me so therefore shes home until kindergarten 🤷🏻♀️
Where we live preschool is only half days and usually only 3 days a week (unless its through a daycare) My step son has an IEP because of a speech delay so he's in Preschool and our other two will probably go as well. I'd have no problem doing 'preschool at home' but both my husband and I work full time so I know they will benefit from actually going.
If they're social and you plan to teach them letters, numbers, writing their name, the things they're expected to know for kinder, then I don't think it'll set them back any🤷🏽♀️ I didn't plan on sending my oldest but she's been begging me
