Okay so this may be a weird question.. idk. My mom was married to a guy for years (not my dad) his family became my family. His parents were my “mamaw and papaw” because I dont have any living grandparents. Anyways, his mom passed away and her funeral is tomorrow. Here the weird question part. Would it be weird if I went to the funeral to pay my respects. I won’t be staying for the whole thing just basically want to go and pay my respect to her and her husband. Some of my ex-stepdads family still invite me to birthday gatherings and such we still talk when we run into each other. I don’t want to make my ex-stepdad or his new wife/kids feel uncomfortable or anything. I know the rest of the family wouldn’t mind for me making a quick appearance but I don’t want to be “out of my place” or anything cause she wasn’t “blood family” but that’s how she always treated me. We had so many little in side jokes, she used to pick me up from high school and take me to her work to get my favorite snack (or bring them with her) she hand made me a quilt for Christmas one year and we had a pancake morning tradition for Christmas (sometimes she’d call me to come eat pancakes even if it wasn’t Christmas... I just don’t want to cause any trouble by going to pay my respects and say hi to her husband and let him know if he needs anything I’m just a phone call away...
I dont think it'd be weird at all.
Is actually just did this to my grandma ex husband, he was my moms step dad and my grandma divorced him when I was 2 but I still grew up with him being my grandfather and that entire side of the family being my aunt/uncle/cousins though technically we werent.
I think he'll be very happy you came, and it will be a nice little surprise for him.
Sorry for your loss. I think she would appreciate your presence. If anyone has a problem with that then it sucks.. You shouldn’t suffer for their feelings.
Best of luck.
Family is family always not by blood but by choice. I think it would be wonderful if you went. Sorry for your loss.
Not weird at all. That's very respectful of you. Soo sorry for your loss..
FTM problems...
So I've made it pretty clear that I want to buy my daughter her fist Halloween costume. Her babysitter/nanny keeps saying she wanted to make her one. I told her yesterday that I wanted to find her something that my SO and I could dress up as a family. So I told her I am going to get it. She just text me and said 'not trying to step on your toes but I bought her two costumes'. She does this all the time. Anytime I want to do the "first" things with her she immediately does it. It...
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
So we got in super late last night. Had to carry my daughter to bed.
She had the nerve to try and wake me up at 7:30am saying she wanted breakfast. Smh (She wanted me to fix her a spread)🙄
I told her to choose some cereal. I'll fix her a bowl. Of course there wasn't any cereal that she wanted today 😴
I told her spoiled ass to figure it out and I went back to sleep 😂🤣
She ate an eggo.
Thank you ladies!
