😭 just came back from my son’s follow up appointment on his weight gain.... he only gained 1 pound & he grew 1 inch in a month, the doctor said every time he gains weight it stretches out to his height & if it continues they’re going to have to take blood out... how can I help him gain weight?? I’m breastfeeding & giving him baby food occasionally
@babybump01, my sister in law told me to mix gerber, baby cereal and breast milk or formula and it worked really well, he got chunky and her daughter is also very fat (but adorable)
I exclusively breastfeed my daughter. She isn’t interested in food yet, makes her gag, and she’s a chunky girl. 🤗 My son started eating for at 6 months and breastfeeding as well and he was a skinny guy.
Personally if your babe is gaining I wouldn’t worry.
I wasn’t worried but the doctor has me freakin out talking about having to take blood out and not being able to give him his shots, she says everything is normal he’s growing up perfectly it’s just his BMI that’s low
Look up ways to increase the fat in your breastmilk. Nuts and avocado are a good start
Avena is more simple: make oatmeal (as natural possible)
For Milk we used coconut or breast milk.
And we used brown sugar , cinnamon, and allspice to season.
Put in blender blend with additional milk to thin out and strain it .
So water and you could use coconut milk Or breast milk and bring it to a boil add cornmeal (mixed with cold water first) keep stirring .
Cook that for at least 12 mins on medium low.
It should come out thick.
Use a blender add more breast Milk to make it thin enough to go through a bottle nipple. And add a ripe banana.
Please do not feed this to your baby through a bottle as it’s a choking hazard!! @babybump01,
Poor kiddo 😕 I breastfeed and give my son formula. I did it with my daughter too. They never had trouble gaining weight after I started supplementing. I haven’t started solids with my son yet.
Did the doctor say he’s underweight ?
