In the middle?
Behind driver?
Behind passenger?
I’m just asking because as soon as I hit 37 weeks pregnant with Odin I moved Oaks seat behind passenger and car seat base in the middle. But why... why do I see people put their youngest NOT IN THE MIDDLE. I don’t understand.
Am I wrong or missing something?

With a correct install and correctly buckling baby in, any seat in the vehicle is safe (in the back of course). They are designed and tested that way. I understand the fear of side impact...but the fear should be alleviated a bit knowing that your child is secured properly.

The place it’s most easiest for me to access. Which is generally not going to be the middle as I’m short.

My oldest is back seat FF on the passenger side, my youngest is back seat RF on the driver side, they are only 17 months apart though. It just was easier that way from when my littlest was a new born, it was easier to see her behind me with my rearview mirror and her baby mirror and I didn't necessarily need to see my oldest at that point and now that my oldest is older and FF its easier to reach and see her on the passenger side so I'm happy where they are. I have a bigger truck if that makes a difference. I didn't want either of them in the middle.. only time someone rides in the middle is if I have my nephew with me, then I have to put one in the middle because then I have three car seats.

And my truck is too tall to reach the car seat to get them in and out if they were in the middle, especially when you're taking the entire car seat in and out each time like with a newborn and I'm 6'1! Lol I just have a tall truck.

When my 3rd arrives I’m going to put the baby in the middle, my 1 yr old behind the passenger and my son behind the driver seat. Usually when it’s just me in the car and baby needs something, I can reach back and deal with them. So I’ll be doing it so I can reach them.

I have a suburban with 2 captain seats and a third row bench. All 3 older kids sit on the bench while the two youngest have the captain seats.
Main reason is the proper installation of the car seats. Another reason is they’re closer to us.. I couldn’t imagine trying to get a car seat in and out from the third row 😳

My oldest is behind the driver side and my youngest is behind the passenger, only because in my car the middle seat is kind of raised so the car seat leans.

I have my 4 year old on the back side of the passenger seat. It’s easy for me so I can see what she is doing.

Thank you ladies for your input. After posting I re read and it’s definitely what’s most convenient and of course none of us would let our babies be positioned/installed incorrectly. I’ve always sat in the back seat with Oak on occasion I do sit in the front. But for me my youngest will always be in the middle.
