He goes to pee just fine like on his own it’s just the poop thing that’s holding us up. He wears underwear all day unless it’s nap time or bedtime. I just can’t seem to understand why pooping is so difficult for him.

With my son I got his favorite cartoon character and use the thing the goes over the toilet and a stool that match and slowly and sat him on it slowly he would pee . He was three at the time took until he was four to not poop or pee in his pull-up . And I’m a stern parent so I would have him wear underwear’s during the day and ask like every 15 u gotta go even he said no we would sit until I heard something thAn at night of course he potty but slowly but surely he got the hang of it . He has accidents sometimes but not as bad he’s four now and he’s full potty trained I’d try getting him a toilet that flushed that’s how I started like get him his favorite character and he might and be stern not mean but you know tell him he has to .
