Is it normal for babies around 11 months to stop liking their bottle? Lately my son hasn’t been drinking as much milk as he used to and he’s super interested in food now. This morning when he woke up he only wanted to drink 3 oz then started screaming for breakfast and refused to drink anymore of his bottle. He just really likes food now and all he wants to do is eat. I can’t wAit till he’s a year so he can get most of his nutrients from food instead of his bottle.
Yeah I think I’m going to start doing that but my son hates sippy cups so I might just get him straw cups or the munchkin 360 one and see how he does.
@babybump21, good luck. I hear a lot of kids are great with 360 cups. My daughter loved straw cups
My son hates sippy cups! I’ve tried probably 10+ sippy cups and he refuses to drink anything in them. He loves straw cups though!!
My daughter will be 10 months tomorrow & we just had her checkup yesterday & shes doing the same thing. Doctor said if she’s eating everything she needs like veggies & fruits & proteins, then it’s perfectly fine for her to naturally start pushing the bottle away for food. She was weighed & growing on point so there wasn’t a concern. I’m sure it’s the same for him as long as he eats good & is growing good 😊
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! He absolutely loved his bottle a week ago but now he cries at the sight of it sometimes🤦🏼♀️ I try to give him a mix of everything everyday but I just didn’t know if it was too early to be giving him so much food, he eats A LOT. My son doesn’t stop eating and I’m always afraid I’m gonna upset his stomach. I’m going to call my doctor and see when it’s okay to start weaning him off because he seems ready!
@babybump21, i don’t believe so. He’s almost a year old so this is about the time for him to be eating none stop. As long as it’s not all junk I’m sure your doctor will tell you that’s more than fine 😊 normally they say to stop the formula at a year old so your doctor might just tell you it’s fine now because he already doesn’t care for it. Lucky you! Some babies fight to keep their formula & don’t wanna give it up.
@goodvibetribe, yeah I’m going to call her later and see what she says. I’m gonna mix some of his formula in with his food too so he gets more nutrients too. I hope I can wean him off soon, if not now definitely in a few weeks.
My 9 month old is doing the same thing! She has a doctors appointment Tuesday I’m going to talk to them about it but for now I’m mixing some formula with her solids to try and get a little extra in her.
They go through phases. But if I were you I’d introduce cups and get rid of bottles. Still giving formula until a year old
