I honestly feel like I'm at the end of my tether with my LO. He used to go to sleep at 7pm, then 730pm... but he started walking at 4am for the day. So I moved bedtime back to 8pm then 830pm, and noticed that if he had a large nap around 4pm he would sleep much better and wake yo around 630am, but now he is having the late nap AND going to bed at 830pm AND STILL waking up at 5am! I've already lost my job because of how tired I always was and because I didn't have time to finish my work once I'd put him to bed, I just dont know what to do

Could you try cutting out naps completely?

If I cut naps completely he wakes up even earlier it's like hes so tired he'll only sleep until hes caught up on sleep then wake up, as opposed to just sleep as long as he can to feel rested, I dont know if that makes sense

Maybe move nap time forward? Try and have him awake again by 3:30pm. That way he will be tired for 8pm. Sleep still encourages sleep at this age!

Also when he wakes in the morning don't get out of bed with him. Go in and put him back down. It will take a few days/couple of weeks but eventually he should get the message and start sleeping longer in the morning (or putting himself back to sleep after that first wake up) x

I have tried 3pm ish for naps and I only ever let him nap about 40 mins. I've tried the leaving him but he will scream to high heaven and I had my neighbours banging my walls the other day so I just feel like I can't do anything

Does he nap earlier in they day or is the 4pm nap the only day nap? 4pm seems quite late which is why he's going to bed late. A nap after lunch would mean he's been up, active & hopefully ready for an earlier bedtime. It will be hard to change his routine if he's been in this one a long time but slowly bring the nap earlier 30mins each time may help. Unfortunately there may not be much to help early riser. I tried black out blinds, putting them back to bed. Max was a 5am riser until he was 2.5yrs 😴

He naps between 10 and 12 for about an hour. If he didnt nap hed wake up at 4am it was only when I let him nap on the afternoon/evening I noticed he was sleeping in later but its stopped again now. He has black out blinds, he sleeps with white noise as he is on the road side 😴

It's normal for sleep routine to change as they grow. Which means their routine may need to change a little. If it were me I'd try cutting the 4pm nap & bring bedtime earlier & see how it goes. Sleep training takes time and a lot patience. It won't happen over night. And somethings are just out of our hands. I tried everything to help Max sleep later. Earlier bed times, later bed times. Naps no naps. Nothing helped! He naturally started sleeping later when he was a bit older. Joys of parenting! 🙈

Yeh I get it. I start early and it was tiring. But eventually I just had to realise there was nothing I could do. Got used to functioning constantly tired lol. Hard to see the light but it won't be forever!
