You know how they say you're not supposed to pick up new exercises when you're pregnant? Only stuff that you've been doing beforehand, well does that apply to lifting my child? He is like 50 lb and I know last pregnancy my doctor told me not to because he was just getting up to that weight, but it would be the same as a bodybuilder or something like that right? Like I know they can't benched all that weight they have to lower it down a little bit to be on the safe side. I'm going to ask my doctor when I go to my appointment this week but just thought I'd ask...?

My OB said in a normal pregnancy picking up children is fine you just might put strain your back and it will be sore

@mother.of.3, hmmm... then I don’t want to tell you something that’s wrong. Check with your OB just to be safe👍

Someone told me as long as the baby weighs less than 40 lbs I think... and my dr always says that I need to be more careful with lifting after 28 weeks, so it might be okay in the first and second trimester.
