when I was pregnant my goal was 12 months but then I learned all the benefits of breastfeeding and I wanted to extend it a little more. I think 18 months is my new deadline, lol. We'll see.

lol. My son isn’t weaning anytime soon. I couldn’t do during nights. He would nurse 3/4 times like a newborn. I had to tell him no, no more boob at night only day time. Lol 😂 it took 2 nights & get got it. Once in a while he will try but my husband will grab him and cuddle him.

I think we are exactly in the same situation! I waited this long because I wasn't going to let him cry it out, but at this point he only fussed for a bit, which was a big surprise! I had a consultation with a lactation expert and she told me I should talk to him a lot in advance about the changes that I want to make. They understand more than we think! Lol As he fell asleep, I was there the entire time reassuring him. It's important to be firm because they can sense our insecurity or assertiveness . 😅 I'd say give it a try again when you feel like it's time! And he'll definitely wean when he is ready, but it's good to give them options.

I tried so many things to get him to sleep on his own! So many sleepless nights! He never wanted his crib, be left alone or without his boob. Lol I guess that's just the way he was. Your child is unique! Why would he want a bottle when he has you? lol I think a big part of the problem is the high expectations we have. Why would they sleep through the night at 3, 6 months, 12 months even? They need us for comfort too, which is also important developmentally.

I've given a lot of thought to this matter, as you can see. 😅 It's been so rough on me, but it's coming to an end. Hang in there and if you need moral support, here I am.
