My 2 and half year old is refusing nearly everything I give her, food she’s previously loved. We’ve just comeback from butlins and every meal time was an issue, it’s battle of wills! She’s asking for ice cream but won’t eat dinner first. She’s fussy enough with fruit and veg to begin with to be honest but would always eat a Sunday dinner. It seems like she just does t wavy anything we try her with! Anyone else’s little one have this phase? I know she likes the food as she’s eaten it before and been fine!
Thanks hun I’ll just have to get on with it and try not to react, it really gets my back up when I stand and make something and she won’t even try a mouthful and I know she likes the food!
Yeh both mine go through this occassionally. Nothing much can you do but continue to offer. I don't give any treats/ puddings if they don't eat a decent amount. If their complaining they're hungry they can help themselves to the fruit bowl.
Thanks hun, she will only eat bananas no other fruit. She just won’t entertain them. I will keep trying though x
Theos always been like this. We have just stopped fighting, he's offered food and if he is hungry he will take it, we don't offer him things like crisps, chocolate, cake, ice cream or any sweet snacks other than fruit. He gets offered three meals a day and If he doesn't eat then that's fine. Easier said than done but don't get to caught up on her food intake, she won't starve herself, if she knows shes not going to get the sweet stuff and she's hungry then she'll eat what's offered eventually.
Another thing we've found is if we try to encourage theo to eat when he isn't really interested then he's less likely to eat, so we literally just leave him to it, his dinner is on the table but if he wants to run around and come back and fore then we let him. We don't make a fuss if he eats a whole meal and we don't make a drama if he doesn't eat anything. It's a tricky mind set to get into at first, but you just have to remember that she won't starve :) x
Thank you very much, I’m trying to just let it go and if she doesn’t eat her dinner I just accept it, so frustrating though. We’ve just had a very stressful Sunday dinner where she ended up crying and in a state. She wanted to just have roast potatoes in her hand but obviously I wanted her to eat her bowl of chicken mash and veg etc...in the end I just got her down and she’s had one roast potato 😔
I posted the day before yesterday about my friend.. & well....... her fiancé came over, AND she came alone 😐 we eat sit around and after awhile my husband takes him to the back & the next thing I know he’s coming in the house with a weird look on his face, asking her if there was something he should know, I instantly gets up just in case someone turns into a maniac....... well long story short he cried & told her how disloyal she is & how disappointed he was.. she’s crying asking me why would I ...

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
So pediatrician wants me to give her a table of mirlax everyday until she’s regulated I rathe do it a natural way so she’s not depending on that. She doesn’t eat veggie like refuses so I make her green smoothies daily, I just got her pear juice & She drinks a lot of water... what other ways can I get her moving I mean it’s only been 2 days & she just got over a virus
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
My daughter goes through phases of eating next to nothing, I just don’t make a fuss and give her what I know she will eat even if it’s just a yoghurt x
