My husband is deployed,, We live in Kentucky where his friends and family are. My family is in Arizona so I planned on making a trip out there to do something small for my daughters 1st bday and when he gets home something big here with his family & friends. He’s so upset I am planning this party without him. Am I wrong to want to celebrate with my family? My family won’t be able to make it here when we have a party so it was just easier for her and I to fly out there for a week. I feel bad because he is deployed but at the same time for the last 8 years I’ve struggled with infertility & now I finally have my daughter & want to celebrate.

Not wrong and should enjoy every bit of it! Plus I love traveling with my kids.

You arent wrong at all. Hes deployed and not there and you're still doing something with him and his family also. If it were me i would live by my family seeing how hes not there. Thats some sacrifice right there

No, you’re not wrong at all! Just explain to him your reasoning for wanting to do it. He is most likely just upset because he’s missing out on an event in his child’s life and there is nothing he can do about it. Just try to also be sympathetic to his feelings too. It’s never fun feeling like you’re missing out. Deployments are never easy, especially when special events happen during them.

I don't see a problem celebrating with your family if you're going to do a big one with him too eventually. That way everyone gets to help celebrate your sweet girl even if it's at different times.

My birthday is in 10 days omg I will be 24 years old: Bday plans are as follows: Friday I rented a party bus to take me and my friends downtown to a few bars then to limelight maybe (it's a club) Saturday brunch with my sisters then later that night off to benihannas with family and friends. Sunday is a day of pampering first nail shop then hair appt then mall to do some much needed retail therapy and to end my week MONDAY MARCH 30TH MY BIRTHDAY my bf says he has something special planned for us so I guess we will see I'm so excited can't wait.

I planned a birthday party for June 2, for my daughter who will be 5. We handed out invitations to all her school friends (17 of them) last Friday and we have not gotten one response! This is my first time planning a party with friends and not just family, is this normal? I think I’m just a little nervous from all the stories about kids not showing up to other kids parties. I would be devastated and I know my little ladies heart would be shattered!

Here is an example. This is my best friend here but even she doesn't understand so I'm kindly explaining to her what I been trying to Explain here but ppl were being rude to me. This virus may not be serious to some of us but it is a big deal to others. She's pregnant so I told her to be careful. . Don't get me wrong I don't wanna get sick but I also don't wanna spread it to people who it may kill you know. It still can have long term effects however to us as well. So when some ppl say they don't understand why ppl are making it a big deal , that's why. Lets be considerate of others in these times as well & their needs. Worry about yourself and your family of course but still be mindful before assuming something isn't a big deal.
