Idk, me personally it’s always been about their presence not their presents. I could give a shit less if you ever spent a dollar on me or my family, we’re good🙌🏽 what I DO care about is who was there for us despite not having the money to buy a gift. Usually when someone doesn’t get a gift, it has nothing to do with them CHOOSING that and has a lot to do with their situation. Humble yourself. Because at any given second you could lose everything and easily be in that position.

I've never had a baby shower so, but to a certain extent I agree even though it's about bringing a new life into the world not really the gifts but there are a lot of people who attend baby showers,cookouts or any get together just for the food.( that's just the way some of my family members are set up as long as there's food their there)

That's bullshit. It's about celebrating a child with the people you love! Gifts aren't everything.

I didn’t have a baby shower. I bought all big items and pretty much everything else and only received clothes from my sister and mom. Why would I expect people to support a child they didn’t plan on having. If people want to give, no problem. But if they don’t I can’t be upset about it.

I had bunch of people on my baby shower and bunch of gifts... and I don’t even know if everyone who attended brought one lol because that’s not what i cared about. 🙄

Nobody is obligated to buy you or the baby anything. Expecting anything is greedy. They are there to celebrate a new child coming into the world.

I think expecting a gift is trashy & not feeding someone who maybe couldn't afford to get a gift is even trashier.

Not having a present isn't a big deal to me. Honestly she does sound petty. It's to celebrate a new life not let's see how many presents I get.
