What’s the best way to teach my 2 1/2 year old how to handle kittens? She’s had a puppy once but it wasn’t small and she never really tried to carry it or anything. We got a kitten today though and she’s not intentionally hurting it but she has no idea how to handle him and I keep trying to teach her but I’m not really sure how. I just keep redirecting and telling her we have to be gentle because he’s a baby...

Like what phoebesmommy said. Never leave her alone with the kitten, even when she knows how to handle it. You'd be surprised how many accidents happen with young kids and baby animals because they're too rough. Make sure she knows how to be gentle with him, teach her to use soft, open hands when petting him, and just teach her not to pick him up for both or their safety. It's also good to teach her not to chase or corner an animal. Lots of scratching/biting incidents are due to parents allowing their kids to harass the animal. Teach her to respect his space if he doesn't want to be played with/ loved on.

I’ve allowed her to hold him but only if she sitting and he’s just on her lap and so far she’s been god about the open hand thing but she still tries to pick him up and I just try to explain to her that she can’t pick him up he’s too little and doesn’t like it. I’m really hoping she learns pretty quickly because I don’t want either of them to get hurt and I don’t want him to be scared or uncomfortable all of the time. He’s really good at hiding from her and I’ve had him in my lap most of the evening and only letting her sit with me to play with him (or my mom cause we’re at her house until later) but hopefully repetition will work cause hats all I really know to do lol

I’m not going to it terrifies me thinking that either she’ll hurt the kitten or the kitten might scratch her eyes or something lol. Definitely supervised at all times! 😌

I posted the day before yesterday about my friend.. & well....... her fiancé came over, AND she came alone 😐 we eat sit around and after awhile my husband takes him to the back & the next thing I know he’s coming in the house with a weird look on his face, asking her if there was something he should know, I instantly gets up just in case someone turns into a maniac....... well long story short he cried & told her how disloyal she is & how disappointed he was.. she’s crying asking me why would I do that.. I’m like 🤷🏽 ♀ it wasn’t right........ Our other friends are saying that he’s giving her a hard time and that he sleeping on the couch, not eating her food and won’t talk to her.. she’s not talking to me (of course) & I now feel like we could have handled it in a different manner ... idk seeing a grown man cry like he did was just heart breaking!

I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.

Need some advice. My boyfriends daughter is saying her stomach is upset today and that she’s throwing up. She tends to eat really fast which leads to overeating so I’ve been working with her on that but she says it feels like she’s actually sick. Anyway I’ve had her laying down and she wants to run around and play with the others but I keep telling her to lay down if she’s sick. She went to the restroom and was throwing up and I peeked in to check on her and her hands were in her mouth like she was gagging herself to throw up. I’m not sure how to go about this. Now she’s saying she wants Mac and cheese and I said I’ll make toast because of her stomach and she now feels better. I don’t want to think she’s faking but it seems like it 😞
