It took us 45 days to close. We got pre-approved first and then looked.

It took us about 2 months from the time we started until we closed. We did a USDA loan, though and those take longer.

Get pre-approved first. Find a real estate agent after. The actual buying process varies so much. I've heard of people closing and moving within 30 days. Personally for me the closing process always takes months.
