@mrssanderson, there is a few moms in here that have done the evaluation that you might be able to pm. How much is he talking? Also yes I can see the frustration of not being able to communicate fully. My sons friend was the same way now he’s 4 and talks a lot!
@mommakayla18, he says a lot of words but isn’t forming many sentences. He doesn’t really respond to questions even when he knows the answer, he just repeats things basically. He knows his colors, shapes, alphabet, basic animals and the sounds they make, body parts, can count to 20 and count backwards - but doesn’t speak very clearly or put full sentences together. If he sees someone upset he’ll ask “are you okay?” Or comfort them with “it’s okay” “you’re okay”. If he sees me putting my shoes on or open the door he asks me “where are you going?” He uses goodnight and good morning appropriately, says I love you, I miss you. But everything else is just single or 2 word phrases.
yea he seems like he’s perfectly healthy 3 year old! Even his speech doesn’t seem that bad! But idk I’m not a dr. I hope all goes well and would love to know a update
Try reaching out to your nearest regional center for testing and evaluations the age cut off is 3 years old. Also try talking to your child’s pediatrician because they can submit referrals for evaluations
He’s already 3. He’s scheduled to start speech therapy and have his evaluation/testing done early August... That was the soonest they could get him in. I’ve never heard of there being a cut off or age requirement?

What is making you think he might be on the spectrum of ASD? My friend has had her son evaluated twice.
