With my first two my insurance only covered that one. With my last I had 3 for normal checks but more due to complications. Depends on the dr and your insurance.
It depends on your insurance and doctor but if there’s an issue with baby size position or really anything wrong with the baby at all your doctor can order more. It’s because of radiation going to the baby it’s a safety precaution
Depends on your doctor. Normal pregnancy without complications is typically 2 ultrasounds. First to confirm pregnancy between 8-12 weeks and second anatomy scan between 18-22 weeks. My last pregnancy at my last appointment my doctor just wanted to check babies position. She had been telling me he was head down for weeks. Turns out what she was feeling was his butt. Had she not checked and done a c section there was a high risk for injury or even death for both of us because of his position. Butt down, twisted with his feet around him neck and head in my ribs.
Depends on your doctor, insurance and medical needs. Normal, healthy pregnancies get fewer ultrasounds, per office policy and/or insurance coverage. If you’re considered high risk or have had previous medical reasons to warrant more ultrasounds, then the doctor will do more and insurance is more likely to cover more.
My best friend and I have the same insurance plan (our husbands work for the same company) and go to the same doctor. I only scheduled and received 3 ultrasounds but due to her pre-pregnancy medical history, she was scheduled for 4 right off the bat.

Sometimes they give you towards the end for positioning. But it depends on your doctor and insurance.

Also, my last one was at around 20 weeks for both pregnancies. My doctor does 8, 12 and 20 weeks for their ultrasound schedule.

I've always had one at the 1st appointment then the one around 20 weeks. unless your high risk there's no need.
