My Dad was the third son and named after my Grandpa and my BIL was the first son and was named after my FIL, but goes by his middle name. Whatever you both want
In my experience It was my idea to have a Jr.
but I don't think it matters what order it is ... "usually" it's the first son but if you like the name go for it!
Not at all. My SO's 1st son was named by his mom and doesnt even have his last name. When we got pregnant and found out it was a boy he was certain he would be a III bc he didn't get that chance with her. And I gave him his wish🥰
My cousins 3 rd son it’s his jr but then I’m sure when they get older two might ask why the third son and not them 🤷🏾♀️ then in the other hand they might be thankful lol

No I think it’s ok. We named our 1st child after his father and grandfather. So he’s the 3rd. I really hope he keeps the tradition going!
