At what age do you/did you make your children clean their room on their own? My daughter is 6 and we've cleaned her room together SOOO many times now but she continues to let it get back junky 🤦🏽♀️
She was so much better at keeping her room clean at 4, now that she's writing/ drawing and playing different it's becoming an issue smh
I think she's at an appropriate age for it to be HER responsibility and start to have consequences!

My girls are 5 1/2 & 7 and both clean their room. Not dusting and all that, but they will clean up all their toys and actually put them away where they belong as well as make their own beds.

My daughter is two and does it. She has most her toys in cubbies or buckets to make it easy.

I started letting my daughter clean her own room at around 6. Only because I am very particular about how her room looks. Even now, when I ask her to clean her room, I go behind her and organize/straighten up a little more. But the earlier the better.

That makes sense. And I think that's part of it too. Her room isn't dirty, but it's not how I want it lol if that makes sense. And when I tell her to clean she picks up her toys and all but it's more of an organized mess than the clean that we do together.

Mine will be 4 in a few months... I help her but there are times I make her pick up her own toys especially when I’ve just cleaned the entire room. I think 6 is a good age to clean up on their own!

My girls' clean their room by themselves.
Kynzleigh is almost 3. If she doesn't help, she won't get to pick what's in the TV or play on her tablet. It's a hit or miss with her. But my oldest is very ummm particular do I have no issue getting her to clean.

Yeah I think it's a choice at this point. Because she used to keep her room clean on her own and now she's just in a mood of not caring. Smh

My girls know we clean her room every night before bed. It's a habit I started when my oldest was 1.5 ish.
But they also have a shit ton of toys I need to get rid of. And we're about to get more because my youngest has a bday party Sunday🤦

@nerdymommyplus2, yeah the last time we cleaned her room together she told me that she has too many toys smh so I think that's my next step. But even still her room is huge so.. She should be able to keep it together haha

At 2 and my daughter still gets messy when she does I lock up all her toys in the closet lol 😆 she gets one a day.

I don't know what it is.. She was really good at it. But I guess now that she's older she has much more to do (always traveling, playing with friends and family, etc) she's become lax. I think I'll start doing something similar. The last time we cleaned her room she told me that she has too many toys 🤦🏽♀️. Maybe we do need to downsize and get rid of stuff!
