TL;DR: wedding planning is stressful and I want to be done with it.
So how early is it normal to want to throw in the towel in wedding planning and give up? Because I’m there. Engaged for a year and we still barely even talk about it. Now fiancé’s at his sister’s fiancé’s bachelor party (nothing lewd, they’re going to an escape room house). I’m not upset about that, but am kind of upset that last minute he was told it’s in Boston, so after being gone all morning until 3pm, he comes in and gets changed and has to leave right away. Which wouldn’t be a big deal if he didn’t give me the “We’ll talk about it later” answer to something related to our wedding yesterday. And we didn’t talk later. And can’t talk today because he’ll be home god knows when. And I know damn well we won’t be talking about it tomorrow.
I’m sick and tired of this avoidance and pushing off wedding talk. It’s why we now can’t find a wedding venue for 2020 like we wanted and have to push the wedding back a year. It’s why his professional photographer friend ended up being booked because we couldn’t even so much as give her a date because I couldn’t get him to sit down and talk about it. It was always “we’ll talk later/tonight” and then it. never. happened.
I keep imagining just giving him this damn ring back and tell him to try it again when he’s serious about planning a wedding. We don’t have to get married just because we have a kid. It’s not an obligation. I know this is likely my depression talking, but I feel like he doesn’t want this like I do.
I just want to feel that he cares a bit, you know? He at least showed interest in one of the venues and really likes it. But... that’s it. I’d love an opinion or two of what HE wants in HIS wedding. It’s as much his wedding as it is mine and I want him to be happy with it, too. But trying to get a conversation started is like pulling teeth. 😩
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
Hubby just left for work we on better term this morning we talked every thing over he say he sorry about talking to me that way and don’t want to loose his family over something stupid
My mil wants me to call her to talk about my birthing plan because she doesn’t agree with it...what do I even say without being rude. I’m heated.
Am I wrong for telling my Bd that because we not Married my baby don't have to have his last name? He really got mad and told me I was project n ignorant. Crazy part is I was thinking about giving my baby his middle and last name

My son just handed me this…. As an adult I made the decision not to get it and told him why I choose not to. Asked him if he knew anything about COVID or the vaccine and he said no all he knows it’s that it’s out there. At the end I asked him if he wants the vaccine I will sign the form if not we ignore it. He said no thank you 😊.
I got engaged in 2015 and we just got married April 2018, I had the same exact issue. We even booked a venue and had already paid $1,000 down and ended up scrapping that all fucking thing so much money was wasted. I definitely felt your current frustration!
