My husband is constantly talking to me about the “tone” of my voice... he says that the tone of your voice and your attitude when disciplining your child will shape their personality in the early years. Now, I don’t doubt that he’s right, he’s extremely smart and constantly reading about baby development. What bothers me is that I feel like I’ve been doing better he even has told me I’m doing better but today when I didn’t even think I had a “tone” he says see that’s what I’m taking about you need to watch your tone... Honestly, my tone of voice is not bad and I don’t have an attitude I just raise my voice a few octaves when my daughter, who is 2 🤦🏻♀️, has not listed to what I’m saying for the 10,000th time and for the past 3 days I have not been doing that at all. Soooo I cried because I feel like I’ve been being sooooo calm and no attitude. I think it’s okay for your babies to see that we are not happy go lucky all the time I mean we are trying to help them understand emotions not make them think we are calm robots that nothing bothers right?? Idk just venting I guess. It just bothers me so much because I am constantly striving to be a great mother, constantly teaching her new things (I mean the girl knows all her ABC’s and can count to 20 and she’s 2 yrs 2 mos, I think my tone is fine...) and when he tells me these things it makes me feel like I’m not doing enough.

Thank you mama’s for all the support! I talked with him about his “tone” and approach and he is very empathetic to how I am feeling. Thank you again for all of your words of encouragement!
