Has anyone experienced both an elective c-section and a vaginal birth? Which one did you prefer? My consultant has offered me a c-section due to a very long and traumatic vaginal birth the first time around. I need to decide by Monday but I just don't know 😓😓

I had an emergency one with grace then was hoping for a vbac but where I was in agony constantly I chose to have a elective c section it was completely different to the first one as it was more calm and not all panicked, the only down side I’ve had 2 skin infections from the scar resulting in 2 lots of antibiotics to get rid of it
Had my c section with grace at 38+3 and little man at 39+5

@lou, it was abit but I felt fine which was weird as with grace I went out when she was 5 days old and went out to town when Elijah was 3 and yeah it’s fine now if I over do it with lifting and stretches it hurts abit but it was like that after grace where the emergency was all panic and you had so many doctors in there with you then the second time how relaxed everything was I had 2 spinal blocks instead of a epidural I had the same with grace x

@dannielle96 I think I had about 15 doctors and midwives trying to talk to me all at once in a panic in my first labour, I know how you feel, it's awful. I think it's just the thought of being cut open while awake that's getting to me but I'll just have to be brave! 🤣 thanks for sharing your experience, it's actually really helped me a lot xx

I haven't had a section, but my first's birth was long and traumatic (2 days of back labour, not progressing so ended up on a hormone drip).
By contrast my second was done in a quarter of the time and much easier going (still back labour but 10 hours from start to finish, I progressed quickly, it wasn't as painful as being induced either).
