So I know that Braxton hicks are supposed to get more intense the further along you are.. I'm experiencing that now. I keep having them now and they aren't unbearable but it's a bit more intense than before 😂
So it led me to a question, it's been so long I don't remember them from before and I was induced so I didn't go through natural labor.
In the future when they get even worse, how will I know the difference between them and real labor pains? Because I'm having them really frequent now. (Like one every 2 mins or so)
So will it be like constant then? Or what?
Yeah I'm always pushing water. I can tell when I'm slightly dehydrated. My fluid has been really good so far and I'm not showing actual dehydration in my labs. But I can tell when I'm off. Like mainly when it's hot as hell like it's been and will be lately 😂😂😩
Wit my son i started having Braxton hicks at 25 weeks.. I was in and out of the hospital from 25 weeks till i had him. I pary that you dont have it as bad as i did and have to go to the hospital alot. If you need someone to talk to just message me ik wat your going through.
wow. Yes I'll keep that in mind. And thank you for your well wishes and offer of support ❤️ I truly appreciate it.
Braxton Hicks will never be consistent they will go away when you move in different position or drink water or rest so if your getting them every 2 minutes for more then an hour i would call your OB and see if they can check.you to be safe
Yeah it was like every 2 minutes for like 10 minutes. But it comes and goes. I think it's just happening because of a little dehydration.
If it keeps going for a long time, I'd of course contact my ob asap lol
I'm still early on.. I was just asking about later on when it could be labor pains.
Girl I’ve had six babies and let me tell you with my last baby my real labor contractions felt like the Braxton Hicks that I had the whole last half of my pregnancy. If you want peace of mind I would suggest getting them monitored to see what’s going on. That’s just my humble advice though
Really? Maybe at number 6 you've just grown pain tolerant? Lol 🤷🏽♀️. But yeah when I get further along I'm sure I'll have more questions for my doctor and ask for that! Thanks.
@rese, girl you never get pain tolerant when it involves your who Ha 🤣
Yes constant and so painful and intense that you can't move or breathe but the best way through them is to breathe as best you can. Trust me you will know when the real ones come. They come minutes apart like mine were 8 minutes then quickly down to 6 then 3 then 2 within 2 hours. Every one of them had me breathing heavy as heck and my whole body tensed right up and I stopped and rocked right where I was so I knew yup it's time
Wow. Yeah I really want to experience it this time. This is going to be my last child, I think lol
But I mean, whatever way he comes is okay. But I just haven't had the experience!
@rese as long as babys healthy is all that matters honestly😊 a mother is a mother no matter how they become one. Youll do great no matter what you do.
I confused Braxton hicks to labor a couple times.... but when I went into labor I just knew then it was definitely labor without even thinking twice. It can be real tricky. I waited like 3 to 4 hrs when my contractions started and water never broke on it's own and our labor and delivery is one hour away so by time I got there I was 3cm dilated but if it just doesnt stop then that's when you know.
Basically how they explained it to me is that they will be more intense than any BH, BH will go away if you start moving or drink some cold water i believe and it should start to calm it down. If it doesnt then theres a chance its the real thing. I know when i was in labor w my daughter at 38.5 i thought i was having BH but i was actually in labor and NOTHING I REPEAT nothing helped besides walking. I had to constantly be walking for it to even be bearable
@rese yeah and some women dont even have contractions so it all just depends on your body and your pain management lol. Me i am a wimp but somehow stayed at home til i was 4 cm dilated and did it w no pain meds whatsoever. So at least my experience was INTENSE. like i said absolutely nothing helped besides walking. Tried taking a shower like they suggest, tried letting SO rub my back while i was in a praying position nothiiiiiiing worked. Besides walking. I couldnt lay down, i couldnt sit down. I was in labor overnight so it was miserable. But i loved it and i plan on trying to do this one the same😊 hope this helps a little.
@myafaithh224, oh wow. Idk if I'm strong enough 😂. I can tolerate pain but I'm just unsure of Child birth. But I never tried or had the chance to try lol
I had scoliosis and other things going on that prevented me from wanting to try too.
But I'm in hopes of having that experience this time.. If I can! Thanks this is very helpful 🤗
@rese lol girl i said my whooooole last pregnancy i wanted to do it natural until it was too late lol i was already at a 7 or 8 by the time i gave in and said i wanted the epidural. But i couldnt cause of how far i was. Once i did it that time i was like shoooooot best believe every time from now on i will try to do it cause i did it once.
I'm in labor

I got a dumb question. 😁😂 so I always shaved before I went in to be induced. But this time I don't think am. But my friend was telling me that if my hair is long enough they will trim it while I'm in labor. 😂 But since it's coming from her I can never believe what she says. 🙄 has this ever happened to anyone? Lol I would like to know that way I'll just attempt to shave before I get induced Monday.
My question about the yoga ball was because I wanted to know if it would be worth the money to order at 36 weeks I'm not trying to induce labor now I know it's way too early
I don't know how many times I've seen this on here but I would really like to make it clear that it takes about 5 or more weeks of being pregnant before you actually know you're pregnant...
If you’re having a lot of BH you could be really dehydrated. Drink tons of fluids for the next couple days. If you’re still having issues, just go get checked out. I had really bad BH w my second and I’m convinced it’s bc I was so dehydrated all the time. I ended up w really low amniotic fluid at the end and needed to push fluids constantly and have NST every couple days til my fluid level went back up to a healthy range
