Does any one know if I haven't got the birth certificate yet if I can change his last name without consent of other parent

If you already sent in the paperwork it’s too late you’ll need to change it after you get it. I know if his name is on the birth certificate I’m almost positive you need his permission to change it but if not then I believe if the child is under 6 months old it’s free to change it.

Once you’ve turned in to the hospital no you can’t change it you will have to do it through the courts it’s around $120 now with out the other parent depends is father around are you married did he sign the BC do you have protective order?

If you've already submitted the paperwork then no. You'll have to change it through the courts.

But I have to go downtown to get it, I can't do it then? Hes 5 days old

@petals no. It will already be processed at that point. I would ask what the process but usually you have to go through the courts and seek permission from the other parent.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
