This is a common scare tactic used with older people to get them to send over money. I wouldn’t discredit it though and up security, but there have been reports of people using “grandchildren” and loop noises of kids crying in the background.

HELP!!! So my boyfriend hasn't came home in 24 hours he called today at 130 pm and said he was gunna be coming home soon. Its 9pm and he isnt home and his phone is off.
