Dear mamas, I am a first time mom and recently my 6 mo boy started crying in his car seat. Before he was doing just fine, sleeping through my drive, I would sing to him and he will calm down. Not anymore. So I can hardly drive somewhere with him. I know with kids nothing stays the same and changes every day. Still any hacks, tricks?🤔 Also it’s hard for me emotionally, before I would do like 3 stops to calm him down, nurse. Now just trying to breathe and reach home. But still breaks my heart to see a flood of tears afterwards(((

Do you have one of those mirrors that attach to the headrest? My daughter hated riding in the car. My sister gave me her mirror since she didn’t need it anymore and she instantly stopped. It was amazing. It was like my little thought she was alone until she could see me.

You can check his straps to make sure nothing is bothering him, but crying in the car is completely normal. Babies hate being strapped down and will cry in protest. My daughter was like that, she screamed nonstop pretty much for the whole first year and outings were stressful. I had to make them quick and make sure she was nursed right before we left. My son isn’t as bad but when he’s in a mood he’ll scream and yell in the car and he’s very loud so we can’t even hold a conversation. Don’t worry, it’s just part of life, babies have to do things they don’t want to do just like adults.

Thank you Melinda! Exactly because I am new it’s hard for me to get used to thought that they also have to do things they don’t want))) And yes I forget sometimes that I should bf right before I put him in a seat! thanks for reminding 💕

My son eventually grew out of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ you can try distractions with toys but he’s going to have to figure out eventually that even tho he’s crying , he cannot come out of him car seat. Something kids get used to.

My middle child cried nonstop til he was 9 months old in car rides. OMG💀

With my daughter I put her car seat in the middle of the back seat so while I drive I can reach her if she needs me. Sometimes she wants me to just touch her, other times she needs a bottle or her paci. My daughter likes when I crack the windows open and play baby shark. Make sure he isn’t too hot. My kids have always gotten sweaty in them pretty fast so I keep it cool in the car.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

son getting out of car seat

son getting out of car seat So a couple days ago my son started getting himself out of his car seat while we are on the road. He will be 2 years old May 27th. He pushes the chest clip all the way down and pulls his arms and shoulders out of the straps but is still buckled at the waist. Today he did it 4 times, we had to pull over every time. What do you guys do when they start doing this? My Britax came with these long rubber strap covers but I took them off a while ago when he was to small for them. Are they to stop him from pushing the chest clip down? I just want to know if these will help before I take it apart to put them back on.

@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer. My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk outside without this information. Children of color are being targeted and killed too. It’s not just adults. I let my son know we treat everyone equally and with respect. I let him know that we love everyone for their differences. In every aspect. Color, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference we love everyone.

At What Age Should a Child Make Their Own Breakfast?

Make your own breakfast! At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
